In this workshop we will focus on the physical manifestation of trauma and the applicable massage techniques that can alleviate the prevailing short and long term effects of the environment of trauma.

We will combine traditional knowledge with modern research as we learn practical approaches to facilitate healing. Through hands-on practice, we will discover techniques specifically developed to enhance the body's natural healing mechanisms, guiding clients on their journey from survival to wellbeing.

We will address issues of chronic pain, side effects of medical protocols, pain management, insomnia, neuropathy, digestion issues and more.

We will become familiar with the physical manifestation of trauma, and the vocabulary of the environment of trauma.

We will integrate traditional knowledge with modern research and massage our way from survival to wellbeing as we practice techniques developed to facilitate healing through enhancing our built-in physical tools.

We will explore attentive presence, therapeutic intent and flexibility, we will navigate through the integrative approach, we will dance, meditate, exercise Qi Gong and delve deeper into our own therapeutic stance.

We will practice the joy of Thai massage and combine the forefront of western understanding of muscles, nerves, movement and fascia with traditions of Sen lines and energy movement.

The Trauma course is divided into two weeks.

Trauma level 1

Is an introduction to Trauma and its physical manifestation. We will meet the Psoas - muscle of the soul, responsible for our well-being; and the Vagus - nerve of our wellbeing, experience and experiment with connective tissue, explore the adjustments and adaptations of traditional techniques and integration of modern understanding.

We will practice massage techniques for addressing pain, neuropathy, anxiety induced sleep issues and digestive complaints characteristic to Trauma

Trauma level 2

here we will expand our practice to the supporting mechanisms of the psoas and vagus, assisted stretching and motion, breathing, self care, centering, grounding and much much more.

On day 6th of each level, we will be doing supervised outreach field work, practicing what we have learned in the real environment of need at one of the many worthy charity foundations in Chiang Mai.

The Facilitator

Roni Gilboa is sharing her experience based on more than 20 years of treating cancer patients and their caregivers, people who live with trauma, and  teaching massage therapists who work in the trauma and oncology environment.

A few words from the facilitator of this Workshop:

The approach I share is unique and distinctive, as it is massage-based and developed through years of "hands-on" experience in Trauma and Oncology environments.

My training and search for answers rooted in traditional touch therapies have led me to integrate knowledge from my teachers, the latest medical research, and insights from both receivers and students.

In our modern world, trauma-based pain and illness are prevalent. Doctors have identified trauma-induced medical issues as the new "silent killer." We are all affected by the stressful environments we inhabit.

As therapists, we encounter the ramifications of modern living daily.

This workshop provides massage therapists with a toolbox of essential touch therapy techniques that can be seamlessly integrated into their existing practice routines.
